A Heart Felt Thank You
As we wrap up another year we are reminded of all of the blessings the Lord continues to provide for our ministry. We want to thank everyone who has volunteered throughout our school; whether in the classroom, on the field, or at one of our events we couldn't do what we do without you!

A special thank you to our " Volunteer of the Year" Brian Abe for all of his efforts behind the scenes. We are thankful for your commitment and faithfulness to FCA!
Making Security A Priority
Once again this school year we have been reminded that we live in a very dangerous world where evil is prevalent. Faith Christian Academy has spent $50,000 over the past 5 years on school security. The school has added numerous items from individually locking classroom doors to high tech security cameras that can be viewed by administrators on their hand-held devices.

2018 Terra Nova Testing Results
The chart of scores shown are from the "Terra Nova Standardized Achievement Test" taken by all students in kindergarten through grade eleven in April of 2018. The scores shown are national percentile scores which indicate that our students score better than 83.9% (Reading) and 78.9% (Language) of all students in the country taking that test this year. Our composite (all subjects combined) score of 75.1% represents an increase of 2.7% from 2017 when the composite score was 72.4%.
Falcon Athletic Recap
We are always excited to share how the Lord is working in the lives of our students through the Falcon athletic department.

This past winter we fielded basketball teams for middle school boys and girls, junior varsity boys, and varsity girls and boys.

Summer Reading
It’s summer! It’s time to relax, sleep in, go on vacation, and forget about books, right? Well kind of.

Relaxation and vacations are certainly important, but books and reading can and should be a part of summer. Studies show that students who don’t read during the summer often experience a loss of reading skills known as “summer slide.”

Falcons Soar at Hershey Park
On May 5th, 40 instrumentalists from the Falcon Band & Orchestra and 64 of their family and friends gathered in Hershey, Pennsylvania for a Music in the Parks competition event. This was FCA's first-ever competition trip. The students performed well.

The FCA ensemble earned a first-place trophy in the "High-School Full Orchestra" competition category, and the judges' scores gave the performance a "Good" rating. This is only the second year of the existence of the Falcon Band & Orchestra. To have earned the judges' rating of a "Good" performance this early in the history of the instrumental program shows that the performers are developing in their performance skills and musicianship and are on the right track for further development.
FCA Interact Club Year In Review
It has been a full year for our Interact Club of 22 members. The club received the Rotary International Presidential Citation this year for their service in our community. This group of students continues to give back even when school is out. They started their summer break planning two movie nights at the school. Later in the summer a group of students headed to the southern part of the state to help with a fundraiser for a small fire department.

Oh The Places They Will Go
The culmination of the academic year takes place each June when we celebrate our graduating seniors at our commencement ceremony. This year Faith was pleased to honor 17 graduates with planned majors ranging from aviation technology to data science analytics and software engineering. Our graduates are ready to take on new challenges next year.

2018 Labors of Love
On May 25th we had over 500 smiling faces serving in our community. Our students, parents, teachers and faculty headed out to their assigned work places to complete projects in the Eastern Panhandle. We were able to help others and raise over $30,000 for our school. It was a wonderful event and a great day for our students and families to shine their light in our community.

End of Year Projects
We are preparing for the new school year and instead of having one work day we thought we would try a sign-up for different projects that can be done throughout the summer. Below is a list of projects that we would like to complete before the new school year. We will have all of the supplies here to complete each project.

Thank you for your faithfulness! Looking forward to working along side of you this summer!
