While much of the U.S. continues to endure a particularly cold stretch, our preparations for April are well underway. Whether you’re hopping over ice or cruising under palm trees, we hope your training has been going well thus far.

JOHN HANCOCK FINANCIAL ANNOUNCES 2018 BOSTON MARATHON INTERNATIONAL ELITE FIELD
Six Boston Marathon champions and 17 top U.S. runners will challenge an exceptional men’s and women’s international field that includes 23 Olympians at the 122nd Boston Marathon.

Combined, the John Hancock Elite Athlete team has won 14 Olympic and IAAF World Championships Marathon medals, as well as over 100 global marathons including 17 Abbott World Marathon Majors. The success of the field in strategic and tactical championship style racing will prove critical as they race over the world’s most historic marathon course.
Among the top contenders are champions Edna Kiplagat, Geoffrey Kirui, Lelisa Desisa, Lemi Berhanu, Caroline Rotich, and Buzunesh Deba.

What you can expect leading up to the 122nd Boston Marathon
Now that you're entered in the 2018 Boston Marathon, what can you expect next? The B.A.A. has put together a timeline for what to look for in the coming months. This includes when you can submit improved qualifying times, when you can expect your starting wave and corral assignment, and other important dates to remember.
Today: Update Your Qualifying Time
Have you run a faster marathon than the one you used to register? You can update your time to possibly improve your start position.
Today: B.A.A. Distance Medley Registration
Registration opens today for the three-race series, which includes the B.A.A. 5K, B.A.A. 10K, and B.A.A. Half Marathon.
January 17: B.A.A. 5K Registration
Kick off your Marathon Weekend with a flat, 5k shake-out, or cheer on your friends and supporters.
March: Bib Numbers and Corrals are assigned to all entrants.

April: Number Pick-Up Card, Participant Guide, and Boston Marathon Runner Passport® mailed via Postal Service

JOHN HANCOCK SPORTS & FITNESS EXPO - NEW LOCATION

Don’t forget the  John Hancock Sports & Fitness Expo  is at a new location for 2018! The Expo and Bib Number Pick-up will be at the  Seaport World Trade Center  (200 Seaport Boulevard) in the vibrant Seaport District of Boston!

Hours are Friday April 13 from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, April 14 from 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, April 15 from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
UPCOMING EVENT REGISTRATIONS
2018 B.A.A. Distance Medley

The exclusive registration window for the 2018 B.A.A. Distance Medley begins at 10:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday, January 10, and continues until Friday, January 12 at 5:00 p.m. ET (or until the field size limit of 3,300 is reached). The B.A.A. Distance Medley begins with the B.A.A. 5K on Saturday, April 14 (two days before the 122nd Boston Marathon); followed by the B.A.A. 10K on Sunday, June 24; and concludes with the B.A.A. Half Marathon on Sunday, October 7.
2018 B.A.A. 5K

Registration opens for the 2018 B.A.A. 5K on Wednesday, January 17 at 10:00 a.m. ET. The race is scheduled for Saturday, April 14 (two days before the 122nd Boston Marathon).

This year's field size is limited to the first 10,000 entrants. Don't miss your chance to kick off Marathon Weekend in style at the 10th annual B.A.A. 5K!
