Happy New Year from all of us!
As we happily say goodbye to 2017, we wish you all a very blessed and peaceful new year in 2018!
Life Insurance 101
The beginning of a new year is a good time to review your life insurance coverage.  Many people either don't have enough coverage, or have nothing in place at all.

No one really wants to think about life insurance. But if someone depends on you financially, it's a topic you can't avoid. In the event of a tragedy, life insurance proceeds can:
  • Pay for funeral costs
  • Help pay the bills and meet ongoing living expenses
  • Pay off outstanding debt, including credit cards and the mortgage
  • Continue a family business
  • Finance future needs like your children's education
  • Protect a spouse's retirement plans

Already have coverage?
Be sure to regularly assess your needs, as those can increase over time.  It's also a good idea to review your beneficiaries from time to time, especially around major life events such as a divorce or a change in dependents.

Health Insurance Savings Tips

As the insurance industry is changing, many people are facing high deductibles, higher healthcare costs and greater medical and prescription expenses.

Check out these different ways you may be able to save some money:

Health insurance deductibles and out-of-pocket costs can take a toll on your savings should an unexpected medical event occur to you or someone in your family. Metal Gap plans are bundled insurance benefits that can cover the cost of your deductible should an accident, critical illness or hospital confinement take place, reducing the burden and stress from your wallet.

Call a doctor instead of paying for that office visit!  Telemedecine is becoming more popular as an easy way to handle minor illnesses.  Our FreshBenies card offers unlimited telemedicine, extra savings on prescriptions, dental and vision, and even help with managing or lowering expensive bills.  With a very low monthly cost, the savings is worth the membership.

This site is a great resource for prescription savings and coupons!

Individuals earning $30,000/year or less, or couples earning $50,000/year or less may qualify for extra help with prescription cost.

Many people have an HSA plan and don't properly utilize the health savings account. The tax advantage is very helpful, especially for self-employed people.

Don't assume your health insurance plan will go overseas with you!  Medical care and costs in other countries are very different. Be prepared with GeoBlue from Anthem.

A new perspective...
"The pessimist complains about the wind
the optimist expects it to change;
the realist adjusts the sails."
