FOX RIVER BOARDWALK PROJECT APRIL UPDATE: $1,250,000 GIVEN IN GRANTS

The month of April has been a very exciting time for the Fox River Boardwalk project. Two large grants totaling $1,250,000 were given to the project in April. For more information on the project, the due diligence report, and feasibility study please visit the Fox River Boardwalk page on our website.

Outagamie County
In 2018 Outagamie County opened a grant opportunity for communities located in Outagamie County. The grant money was funded from American Transmission (ATC) Funds given to the county. These funds do not come from the tax roll and are required to be utilized for projects such as trails. The Village of Little Chute and City of Kaukauna were awarded $600,000 towards the Fox River Boardwalk project.

Community Foundation of the Fox Valley Region
The Village of Little Chute and City of Kaukauna received $650,000 in the form of a challenge grant to raise additional funds for a pedestrian and bicycle boardwalk across the Fox River.  The Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region awarded the challenge grant for the Boardwalk Project from a generous estate gift established by David L. and Rita E. Nelson.
