2018 Spring Nationals—Update No. 4
!

It’s showtime! We’re looking forward to your arrival in a few days. A special thank-you to our volunteers and staff who have been hard at work to prepare. Please review the following prior to your arrival. We’ll see you soon!
The USMS website has all of the official information regarding the 2018 Nationwide U.S. Masters Swimming Spring National Championship . The USMS site has the complete meet schedule and will have the latest results. Remember to tell your friends, family, and teammates that the complete schedule, results, and livestream will be available at usms.org.
What to Do When You Arrive
You may enter the IU Natatorium using the east or west entrances. All athletes must register, sign waivers, and pick up meet materials. Registration, positive check-in, and the relay support area are located in the West Concourse of the upper level behind the spectator area. Review the facility map to get acquainted with the pool.

Event Check-In

Swimmers must check in for all events 200 yards or longer.

Swimmers, or their coaches or teammates on their behalf, may check in online or in person by the deadlines listed on the meet information page and SwimPhone . Failure to check in will result in the swimmer being scratched from the event and the swimmer will not be permitted to swim that event at another time. All check-in times are Eastern Daylight Time.
Flyover Starts
In the last update we announced that flyover starts would be in use at Spring Nationals. After further consideration, it's been decided that flyover starts will NOT be used. We apologize for any confusion. At the conclusion of your races, please exit the pool immediately and safely, and follow all directions given by the officials. If you're in a middle lane and need to exit via a ladder, wait until the swimmers in the lanes between you and the ladder have finished, then make your way quickly to it and exit. With everyone's cooperation we can keep the meet running efficiently.
Relay Information
Online relay entry is now open. Register your relays here and be sure to review all relay policies and guidelines on the Relay Info page . Relays must be entered with age groups and entry times by the 3 p.m. deadline the day prior to the relay each day of the meet. If you need assistance entering your relays online, support staff will be available at the meet in the athlete registration area. For additional questions, email [email protected] .

Split Notification
Final results will indicate splits for all swims (excluding pad malfunctions). Splits will be recorded for all swimmers, and submitted for records and Top 10 consideration, for initial distances of all individual events (except for backstroke) and for all relay lead-off splits. Therefore swimmers need not submit split requests for those events. Split requests are required for initial distance(s) of an individual backstroke event. The swimmer is responsible for picking up the Split Notification Form from the administrative official in the West Control Room, filling it out, and presenting it to the administrative official prior to the swim. Automatic split times will be submitted for USMS Top 10, however automatic split times from individual events will not automatically appear in the USMS event results database. If you would like a split time to be added to the event results database, please email your request after the meet to [email protected] .
