2018 Trail Lineup
2018 RNR Trail Lineup
We're excited to roll out the 2018 lineup. Thanks for your patience as we've sorted through several schedule and venue shakeups on the back-end. From low-key gnarly events to US Championships, the intent of Red Newt is to provide challenging events in inspiring places and to retain a classic trail community vibe.

Coming this year will be the inaugural Empire State Triad Trail Series. Cayuga Trails will team up with Many on the Genny and the Twisted Branch Trail Run providing a beautiful 40m (June), 50m (July) and 62m (August) building race series. Beyond the Triad we're talking about a sub-ultra technical series bringing together some of the most classic and iconic events in NY. Stay tuned or pester Eric Eagan. We may also have details coming on Breakneck becoming part of a to-be-announced Salamon Trail Series. Stay tuned or pester Ben Drew for details.

In the interim, consider shopping local for your running gear at Run On Hudson Valley and Finger Lakes Running Co., as being a small business owner aint gettin any easier and because it's better for your (well, our) communities! Thanks for your support!
The Adirondack Mountains in the summer are pretty tough to beat. So is the amount of vertical gain per mile of the Whiteface Mountain Runs. Saturday brings a 2.5 mile race from the bottom to the top plus kid's race, and Sunday hammers back with 15 miles of long ascents and quad-crushing descents. Bring the family and friends and make a long weekend vacation out of it.

With waterfalls, creek crossings, historic park trails and singletrack, Cayuga Trails has been named one of the most scenic races in the country. With a crew and spectator friendly course layout and well-oiled aid stations, it's a good excuse for an Ithaca trip this summer. The 50 mile will again serve as the US Championship and World-Team qualifier.

One of the most beautiful 6.66 mile loops east of Enfield, North of Newfield, South of Ithaca, and North of Spencer, that you'll find anywhere. Scenic gorge climb, fast flowey singletrack descent. Good for the whole family. The race is surpassed only by the Gorgers Burrito buffet post-race. Register early because really, it just makes logistics, like the right amount of burrito fillings easier!

Per the redevelopment project of Breakneck Point in 2018, we've had to redesign the Half and Full courses, bump the staging venue, and push the date. We're no less excited to keep alive our most demanded event. It'll be a cool new venue, more lodging options on site and give you more summer training time on the trails to build your strength. Register early as this race has sold out the past two years. Limited comp'd entries to those willing to pitch in a bit of work on Settlement Camp prior.

Quickly become an east coast beast and classic, CatsTail Trail Marathon rounds out the Devil's Path when paired with the iconic Escarpment Trail Run and Manitou's Revenge. Field size is limited so get in early and enjoy the technical ride through some of the most challenging and magnificent trail miles you'll find anywhere. This is #Beast Coast.

A beautiful point to point 50k and inaugural Half Marathon along the Delaware River in the Water Gap Recreation Area. Gently rolling and fast, predominately packed cinder surface with a couple of single track miles late in the race. A perfect opportunity for a first 50k or PR as a late-season "A-Race" focus.
