2021-22 Campus Update #7 - Updated Mask Protocol
To ACPHS Community:

We are very encouraged to see lower COVID-19 rates on our campus and in Albany County in recent days and weeks.

As we continue to prioritize the health and safety of all our campus community members during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is also important that we continue to offer a vibrant and safe in-person college experience for our students.

Therefore, at this time, in line with revised guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Infection (CDC), we share the following updated COVID-19 health and safety protocols that will be implemented on the ACPHS campus, effective Monday, March 14, 2022.

Masks

Masks will not be required indoors for fully vaccinated individuals.

Masks will continue to be required indoors for all individuals who are not fully vaccinated. This includes guests, campus visitors, and event attendees.

Individuals experiencing COVID symptoms, or those who have had exposure, are required to wear a mask until they have been cleared by the COVID testing team.

Although we are adjusting our mask protocol, I want to reiterate that we are a mask-friendly community, and masks may be worn by anyone at anytime should they choose.

Continuing Campus Testing

Our campus testing center will continue to test students and employees who are symptomatic or who have been exposed to COVID. We are also continuing weekly testing for vaccine exempt students and employees.

In addition, we will begin surveillance testing for vaccinated individuals as a preventative measure to assist in monitoring campus infection rates.

The campus testing center is located in the Holland Building (HAB B209) and is open Monday through Thursday from 9:30am to 3:00pm. Appointments can be scheduled using: https://acphscovidtesting.timetap.com/#/ .

Continuing Daily Health Screening

Students and employees must continue to complete the daily health screener. Individuals experiencing symptoms are expected to stay home and contact [email protected] to schedule an appointment.

If you have questions regarding testing, boosters, or daily health screening, please email [email protected].

We will continue to closely watch COVID infection rates on campus and within the Capital Region, and we will continue to adapt policies that are consistent with CDC guidance.

I know these last two years have been challenging as together we have navigated tremendous uncertainty and fluctuating state and federal guidance. I truly appreciate your continued support in our efforts to protect our ACPHS community.
