You show up, pour yourself some hot spiced cider, grab an artist-made snack and start collecting gorgeous, affordable prints from the walls while we attempt to keep up with the mass buying frenzy. It's just too much fun. Bring your parents and children and friends. It's basically the warmest spot on Western Avenue aside from our new neighbor Baker Miller. About Us
The Chicago Printmakers Collaborative (CPC) is the longest-running independent print shop in the city, providing Chicago-area printmakers with a facility and community in which to pursue their work. Since its founding in 1989, CPC has promoted the art of the handmade print through shop access, classes & workshops, lectures, exhibitions, and public events. The Collaborative accommodates a diverse range of printmaking media, including etching, lithography, screenprinting, monotype, relief, letter press and book arts. CPC's member artists hail from all over the world, but most live in the Chicago area. The workshop is home to 6 Resident Artists, hundreds of students, and scores of professional printmakers who work on the presses 24/7 with keyed access. Throughout the years, CPC has regularly hosted both local and International exhibitions, visiting artists, touring shows, master classes, free open houses, and has collaborated with organizations as varied as the Chicago Park District, Gallery 37, and Target Corporation to get young adults excited about all things inky.
