Chicago Children's Theatre "The Station" Ribbon Cutting
Its New Permanent Home In Former West Loop Police Station
This event was held today, January 17, 2017 at 100 S. Racine Avenue, in the heart of Chicago's West Loop community (27th Ward). Chicago Children's Theatre, the city's largest professional live theater company devoted to children and young families, celebrated the opening of its first-ever permanent home- an $8.5 million adaptive reuse of the former 12th District Chicago Police Station.
See Phase One of the newly renovated former West Loop police station, opening to the public later this month as a beautiful, mixed-use performing arts and education facility ready to serve all Chicago families. Phase Two, including a 299-seat main stage, will be completed in 2021.
The public is invited to a free Open House, Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Performances begin at Chicago Children's, The Station, in late January. The First day of classes is February 6. For more information, visit:
