Last reminder to our newsletter subscribers! The   18th Annual Car Show and Street Fair is coming to Historic 29 Palms on HWY 62 Saturday March 31st, 2018! Come out and start your Easter weekend out in the community with fun and entertainment while surrounding yourself with friends and family.

We want the streets to be completely filled with fun, activities, entertainment, and a tremendous amount of various vendors.This Street Fair will be the biggest and best yet! As such, we want a variety of members: Businesses, Non-profits, and Individuals alike to be involved and representing themselves in this huge event for our community. Let the community know what it is you have to offer. Don't count yourself out! We want everything including fine arts, informational, self-promoting entertainment artists, automotive, non-brick-and-mortar businesses, resale merchandise, thrift, craft fair items, farmers market, food trucks, catering, etc., so this year vendor fees have been DISCOUNTED!

Hosted by the 29 Palms Inn , Mojave Desert Land Trust , Friends of Big Morongo Canyon Preserve, and Cactus Mart, this free community event will bring together local residents, business owners, and conservation leaders to celebrate the positive impact these newly designated National Monuments have had on the community and local tourism economy. The event is open to the public and will include a short program, live music, food and beverages, free anniversary posters , and visitor information about the monuments

The Wizard of Oz is Coming to Twentynine Palms!

Take the whole family to the Emerald City and back again. Join Dorothy and all her friends for this glorious production of the timeless classic. Skip along the yellow brick road and journey through munchkin land all the way to Oz, carried along by all the familiar tunes, including “Over the Rainbow” and “We’re Off to See the Wizard”, in this festive family spectacular musical.

Performances of “ THE WIZARD OF OZ ” will be held from March 2 through 25, 2018 , Friday and Saturday Evenings at 7:00 pm, Sundays at 2:30 pm . For tickets to all performances, reservations can be made online at www.theatre29.org or by calling the Theatre 29 Box Office at 760-361-4151.
Auditions for the spring production of Theatre 29’s 2018 season, the modern Broadway musical “ FIRST DATE, THE MUSICAL ”, have been scheduled for  Monday, March 5th  at  6:30pm  on the Theatre 29 Main Stage at  73637 Sullivan Road  in Twentynine Palms. The hilarious story of this most awkward of blind dates will take the stage for four weeks beginning April 27 st  through May 20 th .
Opposites attract in this uproarious romantic musical comedy about the chances we take to find love. When tightly wound Aaron is set up with cool girl Casey, a quick drink turns into a hilarious dinner served with sides of Google background checks, fake emergency phone calls, a slew of bad boy and uptown girl exes, and some seriously saucy chemistry. Can this mismatched pair turn what could be a dining disaster into something special before the check arrives, or end up at another table for one? A sweet and sassy contemporary Broadway musical making its Inland Empire debut!
Veteran director Charles Harvey will be seeking a cast of 5 (2 female; 3 male) musical performers for this production.  ALL ROLES MUST SING!  All roles but Casey and Aaron will play multiple roles (most of whom are either mental flashbacks or imaginary characters).

Eight first magnitude stars and several of the brightest constellations stand out against the faint glow of the Winter Milky Way. Other showpieces are the orange and blue double star Almach and the spectacular all blue triple star in Monoceros.

Come observe the winter Milky Way and its fine nebulae and star clusters along with several of the most recognizable constellations.
