"Slippers for Vets"
One month from today, our family will visit the V.A. Hospital of Saginaw, MI in memory of our Mom, Pat Harnick. She absolutely loved to donate to our disabled veterans, and anyone in need.
As you may remember from last year, we lost our mom right before Christmas, 2010. In her memory, we provided a warm, fuzzy pair of slippers to every veteran in the hospital, along with cards, hugs, and love. We received an outpouring of support and were able to pass on your generosity and love to each person in the hospital.
Last year, we donated so many slippers through your generous donations, they need very few this year.
They do; however, have a list of items needed. To make it easier, we suggest making donations, and we will purchase all items for delivery on December 14th.
Items we will purchase this year are:
- Phone cards
- Note pads
- Mini flashlights
- Snap-together models
- Leather making kits
- Insulated mugs
- Lock/Key sets
- Tote bags
As you can see, their needs are great. There will be approximately 55 patients in December.
We plan to gift each patient with a phone card and any other goodies we can put in their bag. The other items collected will be donated and the V.A. will distribute based on needs. Many of the items will be used as gifts for the games they play in the activity center.
We thank you, in advance, for any help you can provide. You can feel free to mail a check, or donate through Paypal. If you donate through Paypal, please mark as "GIFT" so we don't have to pay a fee.
100% of your donation will be contributed to the men and women who have served our country. We thank you, in advance, for helping us keep our Mom's memory alive in such a generous way during this holiday season.
Checks can be made payable and mailed to:

Enjoy this beautiful video of the "Angel" flight. It is for fallen soldiers brought home, and when it flies, the smoke generates a pattern similar to angel wings.
