The City of Woburn will be holding a 21+ Pond Hockey Tournament along with the City's 375th Anniversary! The event will be held on Saturday, February 11 and Sunday, February 12, 2017.
The weekend-long tournament, coupled with the winter festival, is a family friendly event that will bring everybody together for some great fun! Pull your team together-adults, men and women, over the age of 21 -and come play with your neighbors. Team members must consist of Woburn residents or former Woburn resident with the exception of 2 players. The tournament format will be 3 on 3. There will be multiple divisions that will provide a competitive atmosphere for all players and skill levels interested in playing. Players will receive a gift bag that will include some 375th Anniversary Memorabilia, Beer tickets & other items.
Teams will need to fill out and return the Team Registration Packet, along with the Full Payment, to the Woburn Recreation Department by Friday December 30th. Registration for this tournament is on a first come first serve basis. We are allowing 34 teams for the entire tournament. Once those spots are filled we will except no more. So please get your Team Packets to us as soon as you can.
We will start accepting team registration packets on Monday November 28th at the Recreation Office
. We are located on the 1st floor in City Hall and office hours are Monday-Wednesday 9am-430pm, Thursday 9am-7pm & Friday 9am-1pm. This tournament will fill up fast so make sure you get your team together early!
We are also looking for any volunteers for this tournament. If anyone is interested in donating their time to help out with this community event that would be very helpful. We will be looking for volunteers to help out the day of the event for registration and working the games (keeping score, time, etc.). Some of the items we are going to need are big space heaters, generators, construction lights. Those are just some of the items we are looking to use.
