A Note From Your Third Grade Teachers
Third Grade Connections
March 16th, 2017
Dear Third  Grade Families,

Bravo to our third grade musical stars! They did a fantastic job with their performances.

At Chabot, Third graders spent an amazing time discovering how to live and survive on Mars, exploring the planets and viewing the exhibits. They look forward to sharing what they learned this last trimester at the  Academic Celebration on Friday, March 17th after the all school assembly (about 9:00 - 9:15 a.m.)

We also look forward to seeing you at the upcoming end of second-trimester conferences on  March 23rd and 24th . If you have not signed up, please follow the link below.
Please note: Thursday, March 23rd is a minimum day for students and there is no school for students on Friday, March 24th.  Please review Extended Day offerings on these days.

Upcoming Event: Field Trip to Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge on  Friday, April 7th. Details to come.

Sincerely,

Your Third  Grade Team,
Kathe Bybee and Jen Guevara
What We Have Been Learning
Ask Your Child About

Talking with your child is the best way to support classroom learning. The following questions can help you get started.

  • How did being up on stage make you feel and why?
  • How have you grown and changed this trimester? What are you most proud of?
  • What are you most excited to share with people tomorrow at the celebration and why?
  • What was your first experience with the Seniors like?
Homework

  • Thank you for supporting your child with reading daily and signing their planner!

  • Start playing games or use apps to practice multiplications facts through the 5's.

Tomorrow: Parent Education Workshop
Distraction, Multi-Tasking and Time Management, Friday, March 17th, 8:30 - 9:30 a.m., Think Tank. Research shows that media multitasking while studying and learning can have a negative impact on our children's academic performance. Speaker Laurie Schoeffler, Student Support Coordinator, will provide tools to work around media disruption.
