Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Families,

Spring Break has finally arrived, and we hope that over the next week your student takes some time to rest and relax. Both our students and staff have certainly earned this break! Shortly after we return, students in Grades 3-8 will complete another round of ISTEP testing beginning on April 17th, so we want all students to come back rejuvenated and ready to finish up the semester.

Over the break we will continue to work on facility upgrades, including replacement of the cafeteria floor and renovations to two more classrooms, one on the junior high floor and one on the main floor of the school. Due to these projects, the school will be closed through Tuesday, April 10th. The school office will re-open on April 11th. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We want to wish good luck to Mrs. Burggrabe and twenty-nine of our fifth grade students who will be competing in this year’s Math Pentathlon during Spring Break. We know that they have been practicing various math skills and strategies to take down the competition with the assistance of Mrs. Wolf.

Please note that there will not be a newsletter on April 13th. We will resume publication on April 20th.

2018 STEM Summer Camp

Registration for the 2018 CRHS STEM Summer Camp is now open! STEM Camp will be held from June 11-15, 9:00 AM-2:00 PM each day, and is open to students in grades 6-8. The four modules for camp are designed to build introductory knowledge to prepare for middle school and high school STEM subjects. Click  here  to view the flyer. Registration for 2018-2019

Families are still reminded that if they have not submitted their intent to return to St. Michael-St. Gabriel next year, then please do so as soon as possible. Even if your child is not returning, we need to know that as well. Remember that all paperwork and the submission of the $150 registration fee are required to secure your student’s place for next year. Additionally, we have our tuition rates for 2018-2019 posted online for you. Mrs. Areal has also sent home financial packets with your student this week, so please contact her with any questions and to set up your financial meeting as needed.
Spring Break Reminders

This is a reminder that Spring Break for St. Michael-St. Gabriel begins on Friday, April 6th. Classes resume on Monday, April 16th. Over the break, we will be doing some renovations to the school, including the replacement of the cafeteria floor. Because of these renovations, the school office will be closed from April 6th through April 10th. This means that families will not be able to drop off paperwork, make payments, or pay tuition over the phone until Wednesday, April 11th of Spring Break. Additionally, Mrs. Treminio de Celis will not be available over the break either.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Volunteer Guide

A Note from the Music Room

Our St. Michael-St. Gabriel Elementary School students (Grades 3-5) will be performing a spring concert entitled “We’re Making Music!” It will be held on Monday, April 23rd at 6:30 p.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. All are welcome to join us for an evening of entertainment! There is no cost to attend.

Girls STEM Institute 2018 IUPUI Summer Program

The application for Girls STEM Institute 2018 IUPUI Summer Program is now available at http://www.girlssteminstitute.org  under the Summer Institute Application tab. The dates for the program are June 11th - July 6th. This summer we will focus on using mathematics to understand how money works in and beyond our household budgets. Example topics include (but are not limited to) the stock market, build personal and community wealth, tax systems, consumer debt, household budgets, and the economics of entrepreneurship. We will also engage in learning experiences related to engineering, computer science, and career and college readiness.

CRHS Boys Soccer Announcement

Spring training for the CRHS boys soccer team will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00 on the turf behind the high school beginning on Monday, April 16th. Sessions are not mandatory and are open to incoming freshmen through this year's juniors. Bring cleats and a pair of tennis/running shoes, and show up ready to work. Please feel free to invite anyone planning on attending Cardinal Ritter in the fall and is interested in playing on the boy's soccer team.
