Barket Marion attorneys, led by Bruce Barket, win acquittal of upstate New York man after FOURTH trial for 2001 murder

Upstate New York businessman Cal Harris has been found not guilty in his fourth murder trial for the death of his estranged wife, Michele Harris.
For 15 years, Cal Harris has been adamant that he did not kill Michele Harris, who has been missing since 2001.
Harris was tried before Tioga County juries in his first two trials and was convicted both times but those first two guilty convictions were overturned. He hired BarketMarion before the third trial and we immediately filed and prevailed on a change of venue motion and the case was moved to Schoharie County.  His third jury trial ended in a hung jury.  Then, i n an extraordinary tactical move detailed in the 6/8/16 NYLJ, Harris waived his right to be tried by a jury in this fourth trial. Schoharie County Judge Richard Mott delivered the verdict.  He faced second-degree murder charges at all his trials.
The defense team was led by Bruce Barket and included Donna Aldea, head of Barket Marion's appellate and post conviction litigation group, and Aida Leisenring, Esq.
