Norcross Meals On Wheels Program
Coordinator Announces Retirement
Hi Friends,
I've never been good at good-byes. My friends and family will tell you that I tear up at baby dedications, confessions of faith and even a picture of a basket full of puppies.
As Program Coordinator over the last 8 years, it has been an honor, privilege and joy to steward this organization. July 31 will be my last day with Norcross Meals On Wheels; however, I will continue to advocate, care and serve the venerable in our community at some level in my daily life. My sincerest thanks for your friendship. Truly, the best group of compassionate, dedicated professionals I've ever had the pleasure of interfacing with professionally.
Warmest regards, Rochelle
Thru your Faith Promise Giving we support Norcross Meals On Wheels.

Norcross First UMC and Action Ministry Serve Together - Women's Kitchen at Grace UMCLast Wednesday, July 15, members of our church and Action Ministry came together to provide a delicious meal to 40 women and 14 children at Grace UMC Women's Kitchen. These special people were so thankful for the warm lunch, the smiles and hugs. We were touched by their stories, their determination, strength and their gratitude. One young man, age 10, when asked if he and his two younger brothers were "doing good," responded with words that will not be easy to forget. To the question he replied: "I am not good, my brothers are not good, we are better! Everyday we are doing better. That's what we have to do each day - thank you for helping us do better!" He thanked us all for the meal, especially for the chocolate chip cookies! Once again, we are the ones who are so blessed to meet and learn from these beautiful women and children. God is so good! Thank you, members from many of our Sunday School Classes, for providing casseroles, salads, rolls, tea, milk, paper products and for serving at the Women's Kitchen. We also want to thank everyone for keeping this ministry in your prayers. We will serve again in the late Fall; please consider joining us! Carey Logan: [email protected] Cathy Padgett: [email protected] Thru your Faith Promise Giving we were able to provide for this meal.

Praises and Prayer Requests from Travis and Lorna Curry
Greetings from Africa!!!
Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:8
PRAISES
- For a safe, great Zion Mission School tour to Botswana where we did a game drive and boat cruise and went on to Zimbabwe to Victoria Falls, feeding the elephants, the crocodile farm and the Boma restaurant. We stayed an extra day because the bus broke down but all were safe and had a great time!
- For the safe return of the Mt Zion team.
- For our families and friends, the stateside board, The Mission Society, our team here at Zion.
PRAYERS:
- For safety as we have had several events of thieves even taking our fence around the property.
- For the Norcross team as they prepare to come to Africa this week. This will be our largest team yet! (13)
- For good health and strength.
Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, He is my fortress, I will not be shaken. Psalm 62:5-6

Success Summerour ... Truly a Success!
The two-week enrichment program for 6th and 8th graders at Summerour Middle School concluded Thursday, July 17 with a great World Cup themed celebration!
NFUMC coordinated the event and, thanks to many people among many ministries, we had over 40 volunteers.
We operated a school store where the kids could spend tickets they had earned throughout the two weeks for supplies for their upcoming year. Also, at no-cost to the students AND their families, we offered grilled hotdogs, popcorn, sno-cones and cotton candy.
Many of the people commented they couldn't believe we were all there and everything was free!! Invitations were extended for the upcoming student worship night, Connect Student and LightShine Children's Ministries and relationships were established with students and staff that we can build on in the future.
HeartReach (Evangelism) would like to thank everyone who donated school supplies, volunteered in the classroom and helped at the celebration to spread God's love in a tangible way to our community neighbors! Thru your Faith Promise Giving, both our Evangelism and Local Mission Teams were able to sponsor this celebration! Return to Top
