"Thinking Outside the Box" - Fretboard Theory Guitar Workshop With Mike Ridenour.  Saturday, April 18, 2015 From
9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon 

 
This workshop is for intermediate to advanced guitar players and will cover fretboard navigation utilizing the five pentatonic shapes. Extended and "sweepable" arpeggios as well as diatonic scales/modes will be placed within each of these pentatonic shapes for greater freedom in playing up and down the neck (getting outside individual pentatonic shapes and boxes) which allows for expanded improvisational options. The workshop will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 9:00 AM -- 12:00 Noon. Workshop is taught by Mike Ridenour (M.M. Guitar Performance), Workshop materials are included in the $25.00 tuition price.  Please register by clicking HERE.



Beginning Summer Strings Day Camp Registration Now Underway! 

 

The Beginning Orchestra Strings Day Camp is for beginning students interested in violin, viola, and cello.  This camp is GREAT for those students entering a middle or high school orchestra program for the first year.  Meets 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon daily from Monday, July 20th through Friday, July 24, 2015.  Tuition is $110.00

The Music Academy of Western North Carolina has established a Scholarship Fund for students in need of financial assistance.   This scholarship program funds tuition for private lessons, ensembles, summer camps, and music workshops for students that would not be able to participate.
