Nothing helps strengthen families like opportunities to learn and play together, so we thought we'd share some popular events, camps, destinations and resources from around the Granite State.

NH EVENTS & CAMPS
Family Fridays
July 5 - August 17 (10 - 11:15 am)
Bedford

The Studio will continue Family Art & Music Fridays (Mommy&Me) with Sunshine Generation and The Refrigerator Door through the summer. All ages are invited to participate with parents and caretakers. Weekly registration is required 24 hours in advance. You may call or email to confirm your attendance for the week. Minimum of 2 families required for the class to take place.

Independence Day Party!
July 5 (10 am - 4 pm)
Hooksett

FREE Admission to this event for immediate family of our military personnel and veterans with military/veteran ID. Picture time, games and lots of interactive fun with our special guest! Admission is $10 per child. Adult and babies (non-walkers) are free. Please remember socks! Socks are required to bounce! Cowabunga's allows you to bring in your own food and drink, we just ask that it be NUT FREE and that it be consumed in the lobby.

 

Waterville Valley Summer Carnival

July 5, (11 am - 3 pm)

Waterville Valley

 

The Recreation Department will host the event, to include games, face painting, balloon twisting, T-shirt tie-dying, a 100-foot obstacle course, bounce house, live music and more.This day is filled with great fun for the entire family and admission is $10 per child. The Chris White Band will preform rock standards - and a free performance of "Sugar Coated Shakespeare" will follow the carnival. Later, enjoy the Saturday Evening Concert Series with the Flashback Duo from 6:30-9:30 p.m. The concert will be held at Town Square from the gazebo overlooking Corcoran Pond.

 

Summer Adventure Camps

July 8 to July 12 (9 am - 12 pm)

ChildLight Yoga's Adventure Camps are one-week day camps for children ages 4.5 to 7 years old. All camps are hosted at ChildLight Yoga Studio (Franklin Galleria Plaza, 453 Central Avenue) in Dover, NH.  The activities for Yoga Adventures Camps are specially chosen for their enriching qualities and alignment with our goal of offering children a fun, educational, and creative summer experience.
 

Day Out with Thomas!

July 12 - 14 and July 19 - 21 (8:30 am - 4:30 pm)

Conway

 

Join Thomas the Tank Engine, everyone's #1 engine, as he greets friends of all ages. Ride a train led by Thomas and meet Sir Topham Hatt. Enjoy storytelling, live music, unlimited motorcar rides, engine tours, a fabulous Imagination Station organized and staffed by the Mt. Washington Valley Children's Museum, and much more. This is a day the whole family will enjoy!


 

SEE Science Center Camp

July 15-19 or July 22-26 (9 am - 3 pm)

Rye

 

Camp Summer Science at the SEE Science Center is a one week science camp filled with fun hands-on science exploration. The SEE Science Center is an interactive learning center established to promote the understanding, enjoyment and achievements of science, mathematics and technology.

 

The Stratham Fair 

July 18 -21 (opens at 8 am)

Stratham

 

Established in 1967, Stratham Fair follows in the traditions of old country fairs. 4-H activities and exhibits, midway rides, music and magic acts, arts and fine crafts, and the Miss Stratham Fair Pageant. $7, kids 12 and under and seniors $4. Hillsborough Balloon Festival & Fair

July 18 - 21

Hillsborough

 

Hot air balloons, carnival midway, horse pull, live entertainment, 4x4 and tractor pulls, hometown parade on Sunday. Saturday night fireworks extravaganza is one of the premier fireworks displays in the state. Free admission; $5 parking. Go to their website for complete schedule of events.

Monarch's Summer Fan Fest

July 20 (10 am - 2 pm)

Manchester

 

It is the halfway point until the Monarchs embark on their 13th season in the American Hockey League.  The plaza of the Verizon Wireless Arena will be turned into a carnival-like atmosphere with inflatable bounce houses, a live band, photo opportunities with Max, games with former Monarchs players and a blowout sale at the Monarchs Pro Shop featuring equipment, jerseys, T-shirts, hats and much more!

 

Survival Guide: Teaching children outdoor survival tips
August 3 (10 am - Noon)

The program for children in grades 2 - 4 will be conducted by Rudy Bourget and will be held rain or shine. Children must be accompanied by a parent; there is no charge for the parent. Every year we hear stories about people getting lost in the woods, and too often the story ends with tragedy. This program will teach your children skills that will reduce their chances of getting lost and increase the likelihood of being found safely.  

 

Woodworking Kids' Camp
August 5 - 9 (9 am - Noon or 1 - 4 pm)
Newmarket

 

This will be an exciting week of woodworking activities, games and instruction for kids 8-14-years-old. Projects and activities will be geared toward the age of the kids. All materials will be provided. Please call for more information and an application form. 

UNH Theater or Dance Camp
Durham

Sign up for Dance or Theater camp at The University of New Hampshire! Dancers in grades 3-12 are invited to participate in our popular Dance Intensive Summer Series. This unique program, offering an array of dance disciplines and styles, will be taught by skilled & passionate dance professionals, including faculty, alumni and students from the acclaimed UNH Dance program. The Youth Professional STARS Company is a 2-week series, students audition, rehearse and perform in a large-scale musical production.
 
Camp Winaukee for Boys

CAMP WINAUKEE for boys is located on the spectacular Lake Winnipesaukee and surrounded by the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Since 1920 Winaukee has provided a premier summer camp experience for its campers and continues to do so today.

Camp Spaulding
Penacook

Founded in 1920, Camp Spaulding is a co-ed residential camp for children of low and moderate income families from New Hampshire. Camp Spaulding's session held Aug. 12 - Aug. 23 will include a program for children with incarcerated parents.  Children with parents involved in the Department of Corrections Family Connections' program can attend for free - and scholarships may be available for other children whose parents are incarcerated.

We offer something for the whole family to enjoy together. Travel through a natural, woodsy setting along the river, just minutes away from Franconia Notch. As you travel along in our vintage cars, you can relax, wave to the tubers and kayakers, watch as young boys swing out over a long rope attached to Swimming Hole Bridge for a cool splash into the cool river. In 2007 NH Magazine named Hobo Railroad as Best Train Ride for Kids.
