5000 is the Goal

Greetings!

Our ‘ Backpack of Hope ’ campaign is still going strong and as a reminder, our goal this year is to provide 5,000 children with new backpacks. If you have not already, please consider joining the cause and spreading the word of our initiative to support these children’s education.

Our colleagues have been working hard to prepare 5,000 bags in advance so they are ready for just in time for school . With the price of goods on the rise in Iran, many families in need to have had second thoughts about buying a new backpack for their children. We believe these backpacks are a symbol of motivation for the children to start their new school year on a fresh note.

Please click here to participate. Each backpack (which include school supplies and personal hygiene products) cost only $30. I invite you to purchase more than one to encourage these children whose families are at an economic disadvantage and prepare them for a brighter future.

The campaign of “Draw a Smile” with Staedtler is supporting Child Foundation’s back to school initiative.

Books not Bombs for Yemeni Children

As we consider back to school initiatives, we cannot ignore this horrific photo of a Yemeni child wearing a backpack, on his way to school when his school bus was struck by a missile. As a result of this air strike, 41 children were killed and 61 wounded.

We are taking a stand joining Anthony Lake, UNICEF chief in asking all parties to intervene and hold accountable those who have influence over them, including Security Council members. These individuals can and should choose to end this catastrophe for the sake of Yemen’s children.

In addition to the Airstrikes, deadly cholera is also killing children in Yemen. Child Foundation is collaborating with Doctors without Borders in providing vaccines for areas in Yemen where cholera is escalating. Please join us and donate here to help children’s vaccination.

Abdul Jabbar is an 11-year old student from the city of Iran-Shahr, Iran. He is a very talented student and currently in 4 ^th grade.

His family suffered a tragedy when is father died suddenly. His mother supports Abdul Jabbar and his 2 half-brothers from a new marriage on her own from a small income from sewing. Their family all lives in their grandmother’s tiny home.

Abdul Jabbar is devoted to his study, loves school and always receives excellent grades.

After reviewing Abdul Jabbar’s talents, interest, and motivations and taking into consideration the financial needs of the family, Child foundation has granted a $60/Month Scholarship to this talented student and invite all supporters to take a step in building a brighter future for Abdul Jabbar. You can join and support his with a minimum of $30 per month.

To preserve the privacy of the children and their families, Child Foundation will only provide details of each child to their designated sponsor.

Faezeh is a 8-year old girl from the city of Bam, Iran. She is a very talented student who has excellent grades to show for it.

Faezeh’s parents divorced when she was young and Faezeh only has her mother to support them. The family does not have any income other than the government subsidies and a small monthly donation from another charity. They are forced to live with their grandparents in a small room.

Given the high cost of living and education, they do not have enough funding to continue to support Faezeh's education.

Faezeh loves school and with your help, she can continue her education and create a better future for her family.
