It's Friday, and I couldn't be more pleased about this. You?
I'm going to try to duck out early today to catch Prometheus, even though Laura warns us that the "sort-of prequel to the Alien movies" left "mega-mega-named-all-their-children-Ripley-a-la-George-Foreman fans" disappointed.
While I haven't named anything after the Alien movies, I'm a big fan. Also, in 1998 a stranger handed me a bowling ball marked "Ripley" as I was walking down Golden Gate Avenue, and I've always considered it a sign. (And, yes, I still have the bowling ball.)
However, as Laura wisely notes "BUT I ASK YOU, after Aliens 3 and Alien Resurrection, WHAT COULD BE WORSE? Doesn't the franchise have nowhere to go but up?" Here's hoping she's right.
