It takes many big hearts and open arms to sustainably improve the safety and health of children and families; but, you did it. Every time a gift was made … a fundraising event was attended … a social media post was shared … an email was opened … a thought was voiced … an idea was implemented … the life of a child and family in our community became safer and healthier.

1.   You stood beside us as five legacy organizations legally united to better serve children and families.

2.   You supported those in our care by volunteering 7,000 hours your time and donating your priceless resources to provide even greater hope and healing.

3.   You welcomed hundreds of new children and families into your circle of support as we expanded our services to Salina, Kan. and St. Louis, Mo.

4.   You helped Missouri children in foster care stay safe by embracing the loving families who opened their hearts and homes to children in state custody.

5.   You spoke up for legislation that directly impacted the safety and health of our community.

6.   You chose us to become the 2018 Chiefs Charity Game Beneficiary.

7.   You improved the safety and health of 6,593 children and families who were directly served in our programs, plus an additional 3,686 who were supported in the community.

Thanks to what you did, our team of trauma-informed teachers, therapists, case managers, nurses, managers and direct care staff created a safer and healthier community for us all.
Experiencing the Meaning
of the Season

The Cornerstones of Care Gift Gallery — a long-standing tradition on our Gillis Campus — allows parents we serve to shop for gifts for their entire family at no cost. This year, its legacy continued as 1,304 gifts — along with countless items to meet basic needs such as coats, hats, clothing, diapers, etc. — were distributed to 564 individuals from 178 families. Kiara and her five children were one of those families. See what she had to say about the experience .
Free Training to Better Understand Trauma

Your Brain: Hurt, Heal, Hope is a three-class series outlining the impacts of trauma, the hope of growth and change, and the power of resilience.
