MOVIE REVIEW
NO TIME TO DIE

After 24 previous James Bond movies starring Daniel Craig the last one with Craig in the lead has to go out with a bang; and that’s exactly what we get with NO TIME TO DIE. This movie seems to restart the series with a crueler and meaner Bond. This Bond kicks butt without any apprehension about what’s right or wrong.
Again in this movie Bond was retired when he was requested by his old C.I.A. friend Felix, played by Jeffrey Wright to help with the case. He was also sent a female agent from the M16 Secret Service to convince Bond to enlist.

Chicago Sky win WNBA Championship

On Sunday, James Wade, the head coach of the Chicago Sky, became the third Black head coach in WNBA history to win a WNBA championship when his team defeated the Phoenix Mercury 80-74 in Game 4 of the best of 5 series.
It is the first championship for the WNBA team and fitting that they won it at home in Chicago’s Wintrust Arena in front of their fans. Kahleah Copper was named Finals MVP.
The Sky were led all year by Candace Parker, a Chicago native, who has now won two WNBA titles in her career. She won in 2016 with the Los Angeles Sparks. Parker signed with the Sky in free agency last spring. She finished the game with 16 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.

ASK ALMA: Can You Mend A Broken Heart?
By Alma Gill

After 26 years of marriage, last year my husband had an affair, divorced me and married his mistress. We have two adult daughters and two grandchildren. One of our daughters is very close to her father and insists that, despite what has happened, we must all spend special holidays together as a family. She insists the both of us – her parents – come to the family Christmas dinner at her house and remain civil to each other. I am completely devastated by my divorce, and I don’t think my daughter understands the position she’s putting me in. How do I get her to understand?

Five takeaways from proposed Texas House redistricting plan
By Gromer Jeffers, Jr.

The Texas House early Wednesday approved boundaries for its 150 legislative districts.
If passed by the Senate and signed by Gov. Greg Abbott, the plan could be enacted for the 2022 midterm elections.
But expect legal challenges from Democrats and voting rights advocates who contend the new lines would violate the federal Voting Rights Act.

The Path

As we walk through life's journey,
we leave footprints.
Some just show where we are going.
Others redirect us when we get lost.
Still others remain
to guide those we leave behind.
I see your footprints.
Will you/they see mine?
