Dads' Dock was dedicated on Wednesday during the Order of Arrow week at Camp Coker. Members of Santee Lodge 116, Council President Walt Barefoot, and donors attended the event. The swim dock replaced the original dock that had served for 60 years. The overall project cost $43,000 with gifts coming from a donor, Santee Lodge, and a National Service Grant.
The dock named "Dads' Dock" was dedicated to the use "for all Scouts." The plural possessive of "Dad" makes no reference to an individual but rather the collective group of dads past, present, and future who help make Scouting possible. Naming of the dock was provided by the family that provided a large portion of the replacement.
