9th Annual Trick-A-Trout Kid Fish

Date: February 9th

Time: 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Location: Frisco Commons Park,

8000 McKinney Road

Got bait? Want to fish? The City of Frisco Parks & Recreation Department is hosting the ninth annual Trick-A-Trout Kid Fish. 2,800 Rainbow Trout will be released in the Frisco Commons pond, located north of the main pavilion at Frisco Commons Park. The Trick-A-Trout Kid Fish is a great opportunity for first time anglers to come out and learn about the sport of fishing. Since only kids up to age 16 will be allowed to fish for the first three hours, they will have a chance to hone their fishing skills.

All participants will need to bring their own bait and tackle. The average size of fish will be eight to ten inches, and the daily bag limit is five per person. Everyone is encouraged to keep what they catch since the trout cannot survive when water temperatures begin to rise in the spring.

This event is rain or shine so everyone is encouraged to be prepared for the weather.

Adult Fish

Open season for adult anglers will start at 11:00 a.m. that day. Anyone 17 years old and older is required to have a Texas fishing license, which is available at most sporting goods stores. After the Trick-A-Trout event, open fishing is permitted at the pond until the trout are gone. Park hours are from dawn until dusk.
