We would love to know how you feel about volunteering with us. Please take this quick survey to let us know how your experience was and how we can improve.

Power Project Breaks for the Summer

This Thursday, May 23 will be the last day of the Power Project. We are celebrating with students and parents with a day of fun. We'll set up the Wii with games, show a movie in the teen lounge, have arts and crafts with Randi and eat pizza!

We are very happy to report on our progress with the Summer of Service program. The program begins June 24 and will run from 9 am to 3:30 pm Mondays through Thursdays. So far we have three interns and ten Youth Service Workers who will be helping. Fun activities include a tennis camp, greening club, arts and crafts, academic instruction and service learning opportunities. Free lunches are provided by the Baltimore Housing Office of Community Services.

We are still enrolling students for this program, so if you or someone in the Reservoir Hill area are interested, please have them contact Corrine Handy, Program Manager. We are also seeking interns and volunteers to help, so please let Stephanie Neal, Communication Outreach Manager know if you'd like to be involved.

Mentors Needed this Summer

Would you like to make a difference in the life of a child by being a mentor? If you're looking for a meaningful way to spend the summer, why not mentor one of our bright and energetic students? Mentors play games, read books, take walks and teach special skills like how to improve a baseball pitch or cheerleading. All you need is an open heart and four hours a month. Please contact us for more information on how you can be set up with a student.

50th Gala Update!

As you know, we are celebrating our 50th anniversary this year and plans are underway to make the gala event, scheduled for Saturday, October 26 a night of celebration, fund raising and meeting new friends and supporters.

The gala committee has been meeting regularly to discuss our James Bond movie theme and how we plan to get the word out about this wonderful event.

We'll be posting updates regularly on Facebook, our website and in our newsletters, so stay tuned!
