The Center for Children & Young Adults (CCYA) is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment with comprehensive services for homeless youth and young adults who have been abused, abandoned, neglected, or are at risk.

A Big Thanks to
The Atlanta Braves Foundation!
We are happy to announce that CCYA was recently awarded a $5,000 grant from The Atlanta Braves Foundation! On Tuesday, September 23rd we were invited to a reception and awards ceremony at Turner Field. CCYA as well as other non-profit honorees were invited onto the field for recognition and received the crystal award pictured here along with a check for $5,000. These funds will support the purchase of bedroom furniture, which will replace the current 30 year-old furniture at Another Chance (serving boys ages 13-17). We are grateful for this partnership!
We Love Our
Community Partners
Community Partners are critical to The Center for Children & Young Adults! We rely heavily on our partners to help us with everything from increasing awareness to supporting us in our fundraising efforts throughout the year. We are lucky to have so many businesses and organizations that care about our mission and the children we serve. A community partnership doesn't have to be complex or overly involved. We have so many opportunities. Here are some of the many ways you can help:

* Placing a collection tin on the checkout counter of your business
* Have your staff join together to do a volunteer project
* Provide a sponsorship for a fundraising event
* Offering in-kind services or pro-bono work
* Offering some of our company's product as an in-kind gift
* Become a Mentor
* Provide a discount for your services (example: printing, painting, accounting, etc...)

Help us Make a Merry Christmas for CCYA Teens!
The holidays can be a very difficult time for CCYA youth. There are constant reminders at school, on television, and in the community that this time of year is celebrated with family. To create some happy childhood memories, we strive to provide our kids with two weeks of holiday magic during the school break. We cannot do it without your help! There are so many ways you and your family, co-workers, and/or friends can get involved this holiday season:

Midnight Santas
Deliver a special treat to the dorms between 9pm and midnight during the school holidays (favorites: donuts, McDonalds, Taco Bell, ice cream, and favor bags)

All ages welcome!

Please contact Kimberly Tinsley at 770-333-9447 x103 or ktinsley@ccyakids.org

Be An Angel
Sponsor a youth's Wish List for the holidays. We serve boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 21 living on campus and young adults who have graduated into self-sufficiency (ages 18-23 living off campus in a college dorm or apartment)

We ask that all gifts are delivered unwrapped on or before Monday December 15th to enable our Santa Workshop elves to sort and wrap before the big day!

To receive one of our kid's lists please contact Andrea Watkins at 770-333-9447 x116 or awatkins@ccyakids.org

Santa's Workshop
Come wrap gifts for all of the kids to open on Christmas morning!

CCYA Board Chair
Wins Falcon Award
Congratulations to our very own Maureen Lok on being selected as the 2014 Community Quarterback Award Winner for October! Maureen began volunteering with The Center for Children & Young Adults in 2001. Lok has managed the community garden as a volunteer for 13 years and can be found two days a week digging in the dirt on campus. As the volunteer garden manager, Maureen continues to lead and motivate her fellow Master Gardeners and works directly with the Youth Garden Club to instruct on how to prepare the ground, plant and harvest vegetables and fruit to farm to table. In 2013, CCYA farmed to table over 450 pounds of fresh produce from the garden. Lok continues to work tirelessly to engage new community partners to help support the expansion of the community garden as well as established a youth entrepreneurship project with Kennesaw State University to offer healthy cooking lessons which incorporate produce from the community garden.
