Big Dreams in the Big Easy

On June 9, 2014, fourteen Cool Scholars boarded a flight from Atlanta, Georgia to New Orleans, Lousiana to spend four days touring Xavier and Tulane Universities and taking in the vast New Orleans culture.

While visiting Xavier University our rising seniors were given application fee waivers to apply this fall.

After a full day of touring, the girls learned about the annual Fat Tuesday celebration when they visited and even dressed up at Mardi Gras World.  No trip to New Orleans would be complete without indulging in the city's traditional cuisine. The Cool Scholars learned how to cook amazing food while attending a cooking demonstration at the New Orleans School of Cooking.

By the end of the week, each girl had a taste of southern charm that the French/American inspired city of New Orleans had to offer.

6th Annual 'Mardi Gras Mania' Pink Pin Bowl

Family fun is just one pin away during our upcoming Pink Pin Bowl. Hosted by our friends at Midtown Bowl, Cool Girls will take over the bowling alley on Sunday, September 28th for a Mardi Gras themed event sure to please.

The annual bowl-a-thon will benefit the Cool Sisters program, a one-to-one mentoring program that matches girls with a caring adult who makes immeasurable differences in helping them achieve their personal and academic goals.

The event provides a great opportunity for corporate groups and individuals to gather for an entertaining, team-building activity that will provide at-risk girls with the opportunities to grow into strong, young women.
