Also, learn where we'll be at Marine Week and how you can meet up with us and Semper Gumby! Get Connected Below you will learn how you can get involved in our outreach programs that provide support for our troops. The 2011 Care Package Project Dollar Campaign is moving slowly towards its goal, and we need your help. Marine Families Unite to Support Joplin Family
"It is friendship, and something beyond friendship, that binds the Marine Corps together." - Donald T. Regan, WWII Veteran
On May 22, 2011, the tornado that ripped through Joplin, Missouri, destroyed cars, flattened buildings and in some cases took nearly everything that made a family's house a home.
A Joplin Marine recruiter and his family of five were blessed to have survived the disaster when so many of the town's residents had lost loved ones and friends, but when the storm finally subsided the family was left with nothing but their kitchen table, washer, dryer and a few family photos.

Marine Parents is at Marine Week!
Come Look for Us Friday and Saturday!
Marine Week 2011 is finally here, and we hope you can meet us under the arch in St. Louis!
We attended the opening ceremony Monday morning, and we will be setting up a tent near the Gateway Arch on Friday and Saturday to pass out bottled water and "The Marines Have Your Back" koozies and to visit with Marine families.
Semper Gumby is with us in his camo cape, and he is having a blast posing on all the equipment and hanging out with the Marines.

Don't Forget Your Dollar...
The Dollar Campaign is in Need of Your Bills!
Donate Here.
The Dollar Campaign has raised $2,588 so far, but with only a month to go before our July 23rd pack day, we are running behind! Have you sent in your dollar? It's easy; just send a dollar bill in an envelope to:
MarineParents.com, Inc.
Attn: Dollar Campaign
PO Box 1115
Columbia, MO 65205
Or you can donate online here. If you can spare more than $1, we'd appreciate that too!
These dollars are what fund our care package shipping in the summer, and it's crucial we raise the full $12,500 needed to ship 1,200 boxes to our deployed Marines. Please encourage your friends and co-workers to contribute to the campaign as well. The troops appreciate your support, and so do we. Thank you!

Vote Purple Month is Approaching | | How You Can Help....
Yellow Caps As you may have heard, we recently applied to participate in Pepsi's Refresh Project, a grant program that awards money to good causes based on votes. We applied on behalf of Purple Heart Family Support in hopes of winning a $25,000 grant that would help fund the dinners we serve and the support we provide to wounded Marines and their families. Beginning July 1st, you will be able to vote for Purple Heart Family Support through the Pepsi Refresh Project website. We'll give you voting details beginning July 1st, but until then you can start helping by collecting the yellow caps on Pepsi bottles. There are "power votes" under the yellow caps that allow you to cast up to 100 votes per day, whereas you typically are limited to one vote per day. You can also find power votes in boxes of Pepsi cans. Promotional Materials We'd love for you to help spread the word to your friends, family and co-workers so that we can get the most votes possible. Beginning in July, you can visit VotePurple.com to learn how to vote and how you can help promote Vote Purple. We will be sending out a Vote Purple promotional kit in every EGA Store order we send out, and the kits will also be available for purchase at a very low price. The kits will include a Vote Purple wristband, button, flyer and coaster. Vote Purple T-shirts will also be available for purchase (see above image). We'll give you more information once July 1st approaches. Stay tuned for an announcement that our application was accepted! |
