We did it with 71% of the vote!
Tonight you returned me to the Austin City Council. I am deeply grateful for your vote, your contributions and your support.
This campaign was about facing the hard choices and real challenges we must deal with as a city. Your overwhelming support gives me the confidence to continue the tough conversations and the work of strengthening our community bonds.
I recognize we must continue to prosper as city while not leaving any part of our community behind.
And for the first time, my 18-year-old son, Nelson, voted -- and he says he voted for me. I consider it an early Mother's Day present.
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and I'll be back at work on Monday -- even more dedicated to Moving Austin Forward.
