Oh my goodness we are half way through the year.....
Some of you may be reflecting on how much you haven't accomplished thus far with new year's goals and aspirations. Don't focus too long on that.
Today (and everyday) is a brand new day! Choose to focus on what CAN be accomplished. Here are a few steps that can help you with this process:
1. Operate from a foundation of maximums, not minimums. Adopt the 'at most' vs. 'at least' mentality. Shift from "I have to" to "I get to".
2. Shorten your usage of the 5 Metastasizing Emotional Cancers: Complaining, Criticizing, Competing, Contending and Comparing
3. Wipe the slate clean every morning of regrets, guilt, shame, and disappointments. Practice forgiveness and giving love.
4. Practice daily gratitude. Wake up each day and claim something have to look forward to. You are breathing and woke up so you have a purpose to fill. Go BE your purpose.
I wish you all joy and peace in your hearts and much love and happiness in your souls.

5 Ways to Destress
Abigail Cuffey and Judy Kirkwood, reprinted from LHJ, August 2008
Drink it, soak in it, listen to its music... water can soothe in all its forms. Ah, water ... sometimes just the thought f it can sweep us along in a current of happy memories, leaving stress on a distant shore. But that relaxed feeling is not just due to pleasant images of sunny childhood afternoons playing in sprinklers or of breezy family vacations at the beach. Recent scientific studies show that the stress-alleviating, mood-improving, tension-reducing power of good old H2O also has to do with the way it affects body chemistry and neurology. Whatever the method, water works wonders - so dive in and de-stress!

Hungry: The Truth About Being Full
"Even though I looked alive and vital, the hourglass measuring the aliveness of my soul was swiftly draining to the bottom. I was losing my battle to be myself. I was in my prime. My career was taking off; I was surrounded by loving friends and family. Yet it felt like time was running out." Dr. Robin L. Smith, noted psychologist, ordained minister, motivational speaker, and best-selling author of Lies at the Altar, seemed to have the perfect life, but underneath it all, she felt empty. In this powerful new work, Dr. Robin painstakingly chronicles a time when she felt at the end of her rope, unable to truly see herself or escape the unrelenting craving in her heart. Throughout her life, she had always focused on living up to everyone else's expectations, doing everything they asked-everything they recommended-in the hopes that by pleasing others she would find fulfillment and success. Instead she found herself spiritually and emotionally starved with a hungry soul begging for change
