                                 Lucy

This beautiful, brown eyed girl named Lucy was sitting in a kennel at our local animal shelter waiting for a forever family to take her home. She was passed by every day.  Though only five years old, Lucy had Mammary Tumors down her entire right side.  Our foster adoptions team placed this happy girl into a foster home and the process of healing began.  An appointment was made with Dr. Dalpiaz at Boones Creek Animal Hospital.  She was taken in for x-rays of her chest and abdomen. We received exciting news from Dr. Dalpiaz, she was clear of tumors in those areas of her little body.  Lucy was scheduled for surgery and the tumors were removed and now while she is in her foster home recovering, we are waiting the results of the biopsies.  Paws are crossed that they will be benign and Lucy will be cancer free.

Lucy is only 5 years old and because of the generosity of donors to our programs, this surgery was made possible.  You gave her the gift of life. We have many cats and dogs that come through our foster program that require extra care just like Lucy.  Please consider giving to one of our programs so that the Humane Society may continue the care that these wonderful animals deserve.

Thank you,
Lucinda Grandy
