Why do we recommend that you don't chew gum in class?  Because chewing is an "isolation."  Belly Dance is all about isolating movements/muscles, if you are chewing, your jaw is doing an isolated movement, and that may prevent the rest of your body from doing Belly Dance isolations!  So, it's recommended that you chew gum after class!!
