Unparalleled Real Estate
A MAGICAL MIDSUMMER NIGHT

With the halcyon days of summer upon us, our activities naturally take us outdoors. Whether you are nestled within the canyons of Mill Valley, tucked into the hillside of Sausalito or Tiburon, situated at the base of majestic Mt. Tamalpais or basking in the earthly aromas of a wine country vineyard, you are blessed to be living in one of the most beautiful places on earth! We are so fortunate to live in the Bay Area with its awe-inspiring views and vast array of natural habitats and wildlife.

Not a day goes by that I don’t express gratitude for living in this exquisite pocket of paradise. I almost feel obliged to open my doors and share my little piece of Heaven with others. Afterall, isn’t this what ‘Home’ is all about: A safe place to make memories, touch souls, share our gifts, experiences and feelings with one another? I think so.

This summer, make the time to treat yourself to a gathering of your favorite people at your home, celebrating this extraordinary moment in time. Passa un'estate meravigliosa!
TIPS for AL FRESCO ENTERTAINING

  • Ideally, seat everyone at one table, no matter how long it may be, so as not to make anyone feel lesser than another. Offer the best views to your guests.

  • Chairs on the lawn can be unsteady. Consider placing clean, colorful carpets on the ground and sitting directly on them. This playful touch adds an element of exotic coziness. Perhaps take it further by incorporating this theme within your table settings, lighting, décor, invitation and menu.

  • At dinner, light the pathway between house and dining table with staked outdoor lighting or those resembling rocks to prevent accidental stumbles in the dark.

  • For daytime, provide adequate umbrella/awning shading for everyone (if we wanted to sunbathe we would not be dressed).

  • Don’t spring it on them. Let your guests know in advance you will be dining al fresco, under the stars, possibly seated on the ground (in Female this immediately translates to: “No heels, nothing too delicate, bring a wrap.”)

  • A seasonal favorite: Fresh Italian bread drizzled with olive oil under the broiler, then slathered with burrata, fresh heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, a drizzle of balsamic + a dash of salt is sure to delight your friends.

  • Whether you live in a sprawling Marin manse or a tiny North Beach apartment, be prepared to host an overnight guest who may have been over-served. A daybed can quickly transform into a comfy retreat and blow-up mattresses have indeed come a long way. In this part of the country, room for a guest is de rigueur!
