The nation is in the midst of an opioid epidemic, and the District Attorney is committed to helping stop it. The DA's Office is joining the Drug Enforcement Administration and other local law enforcement agencies in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, which will take place Saturday, April 28.

According to the 2015 National Survey on Drug Use and Health,  a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet. The DEA's Take Back Day events provide an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths by providing thousands of locations nationwide to properly dispose of unwanted medications. Find the location nearest you and dispose of unwanted prescription drugs on #DEATakeBack April 28, visit: www.DEATakeBack.com.
