M'KOR MAIL
November 1, 2017
Shiru l'Adonai shir chadash
Shiru l'Adonai kol ha'aretz
Sing to God a new song!
All the world sing a song to God!

Friday evening is sure to be a "M'kor Moment" in the making, as we join as a congregational community in celebrating the Installation of Cantor Jenkins-Adelberg during our Erev Shabbat service (8:00 pm). We will welcome two of Cantor Jenkins-Adelberg's mentors - Cantor Shira Ginsburg and Cantor Ilene Keys - as we will officially install our new Cantor. This is a truly sacred moment in a congregation's history, as a covenant is formed and as a relationship is deepened between a synagogue community and a new clergy-member. As Cantor Jenkins-Adelberg's gift of music and song inspires us, so do we, as a M'kor Shalom family, offer her blessings of welcome and gratitude, surrounded by the words and rituals of our tradition.

Shabbat morning, I will be leading Torah Study beginning at 9:00 am, followed by our Spice Up Your Judaism session "Exploring Your Personal Judaism" at 10:30 am, led by Scott Kushner. Also Shabbat morning, Cantor Jenkins-Adelberg and I will lead services beginning at 10:30 am in the Sanctuary, which will include the Bat Mitzvah of Brooke Elwell. Shabbat afternoon, Cantor Hochman and I will lead services beginning at 5:45 pm in the Sanctuary, which will include the Bat Mitzvah of Amanda Merovitz.

A Shabbat filled with many opportunities to celebrate! As we mark this wonderful moment in our synagogue's story, may we always go from strength to strength!

L'shalom,

Rabbi Jennifer L. Frenkel
