Celebrate National Skating Month at the
Ice Centre at the Promenade

January is National Skating Month so now is the perfect time to come ice skating. The Ice Centre has several programs to participate in for the month including our popular "Learn to Skate Lessons" and we are adding public skating sessions for the moth.

Learn to Skate: The Ice Centre Learn to Skate Lessons is a great place to start for any aspiring hockey player or figure skater.  We offer ice skating lessons for ages 4 through adults and and we even offer hockey lessons.  Each skater will have a 30 minute group lesson and will meet for their lesson once a week for six weeks on either Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings.   Our next session of our Learn to Skate Lessons will begin January 10th or January 13th so make sure to register soon to join in our Winter lessons!

Added Public Skating Sessions:  Still looking for ideas to keep the kids busy when they are off of school?  Come ice skating at the Ice Centre!  We've added a lot of extra public skating times from January 1st-January 8th as well as on Monday, January 15th.

Bassmasters Fishing Club Helps Out at Clear Creek Valley Park

Twelve members of the Bassmasters Fishing Club volunteered their time in December to install ten Mossback fish habitat structures at Clear Creek Valley Park. The structures were placed on two catch-and-release ponds at the park and are expected to contribute to a more active, happier fish population.

The group also installed nine posts for fishing regulation signs as part of their community outreach program to improve the fishing experience at numerous location along the Front Range. The club's volunteer labor and cost of the Mossback structures are valued in excess of $1,500.

The Bassmasters efforts are in advance of a planned spring stock of sterile Grass Carp in an effort to control the pond weeds in an ecological manner for better public fishing opportunities. This was part of Adams County Open Space grant that Hyland Hills received in 2017.
