Goodbye to Old Friends, Hello to New

In December, The Friends celebrated our retiring board members Debbie Balsano and Angie Tegel. Vice-President Mark Proffer presented both deserving women with a crystal recognition award as a token of our appreciation for their many years of dedicated volunteer service on the board. During their six-year tenure, more than $922,000 was raised in support of Saint Francis Healthcare System patient services and programs.
- Debbie served on the Executive, Officers & Nominating, Development, Ken Hayden Golf, Benefit Golf and Gala committees, and served as President in 2015. She recently was bestowed with an honorary lifetime membership for her tireless efforts and generous contributions.
- Angie served on the Executive, Officers & Nominating, Development, Ken Hayden Golf, Benefit Golf and Gala committees, and most recently served as Historian in 2015.
We also are thrilled to welcome two new individuals who have accepted six-year terms on The Friends of Saint Francis Board. Terra Bennett is the marketing and new business development director at Hi-Tech Communications in Sikeston and Mark Kiehne is the district sales coordinator at AFLAC in Cape Girardeau.
We look forward to their new ideas and energy to keep The Friends moving forward in the coming years!

This Wednesday, ditch the typical hump-day meal, try something different and do a little good! El Sol is partnering with The Friends for January's Share Day, which means all day long on Wednesday, 10 percent of all restaurant proceeds will benefit Saint Francis Healthcare System patients and their families.
