"A Novel Idea" 2018... Unveiled!
More than 250 people joined us as we unveiled the Deschutes Public Library Foundation's 15th annual "A Novel Idea... Read Together" selection. The book, Rakesh Satyal's No One Can Pronounce My Name, takes place in Ohio and follows the lives of several Indian Americans as they struggle with issues of identity, connection, and loss while straddling the divide between Eastern and Western cultures. We kick off programming for A Novel Idea in April, culminating with a visit from Rakesh Satyal on May 6. Books are available for check out. If you'd like to suggest a title for the 2019 "A Novel Idea," we'd love to hear from you! Find a suggestion form here. If you attended the Dec. 1 unveiling event, we'd like to hear from you, too.
