The 2nd annual Project Sanctuary Poker Run held on June 10th was a great success. A big thank you to Tony and Colleen with Castle Rock Radio and TC & Sass band for organizing a wonderful event. It was a beautiful day for the nearly 100 mile ride. Riders, civilian, veterans and Project Sanctuary families came from all over the Denver Metropolitan area to help raise for Project Sanctuary and the Taylor family. The Taylors are a military family that have successfully gone through the program. Originally from Oklahoma, parents Ty and Staci immediately noticed a positive change in their 5 year old daughters' health when arriving in Colorado for the retreat. 5 year old Kamryn who has a rare brain disease as well as a hypothalmic disease made great strides in the Colorado climate in the 6 days they were here. Staci has since moved to Colorado with their children while Ty, who is in the Air Guard awaits for an employment opportunity here in Colorado. The part of the proceeds of the Poker Run will be given to the Taylor family to help cover the cost of moving as well as medical expenses.
After the Poker Run everyone gathered at the Stagecoach for live music and a traditional pig roast. We had an amazing group of supporters come out and enjoy the day while raising money for our military families.
