This afternoon, Carter, Matt and I will begin our flight to Guatemala. We'll be spending the next five days there with our mission partners, Andrew and Rebecca Loveall.
It's a unique opportunity to be able to take my two sons - something that will provide them, I hope, with a good taste for global missions. It also will be a great chance to spend time together. We're really looking forward to it.
We certainly covet your prayers for our journey. We arrive in Antigua early evening and leave the following Tuesday afternoon. In between we'll visit the schools that make up Escuela Integrada, visit homes of some of the students, and meet with staff. Carter and Matt are looking forward to playing soccer with the students and hanging out with some of the teenage boys there. It should be a very memorable experience.
We're blessed at St John's to have intimate relationships with several global partners - in Guatemala, South Sudan, Bolivia, Papua New Guinea, and Bethlehem. Amazingly, mission partners from each location have been at St John's during the past 12 months. What a great opportunity to be personally engaged with these remarkable folks.
I'm so thankful to be part of a church that takes global missions seriously and look forward to the many ways God will speak to us during this visit to Guatemala.
Peace and Blessings+
