November: A Time of Gratitude & National Homelessness Awareness
November is a time to give thanks for all we feel fortunate for. The Shelter Association is thankful to our staff and you for making it possible to help hundreds of men and women each year. The reason we can change lives is you.

November is also National Homelessness Awareness month. Advocating our cause to friends and family is vital to the success of the Shelter. So many members of the Washtenaw Community are still unaware of the more than 1,700 adults experiencing homelessness every year, in our neighborhood, right next door. Many do not know about the life-saving programs the Shelter provides at the Delonis Center. Especially as our Winter Programs begin this month.

For more than 30 years the Shelter has increased its ability to reach and help people. We will only be able to end homelessness one person at a time with your support and a broader community awareness.
Here's to the next 30 years of changing lives.
Dawn Farm Teams Up With The Shelter

The Shelter Association is pleased to welcome Dawn Farm to our more than 30 community partners who offer services at the Delonis Center. This partnership strengthens our commitment to help men and women succeed in recovery.

Every week two Dawn Farm Recovery Support Specialists come to the Delonis Center.  They are here as peer support for men and women who are Shelter residents and Service Center clients. The Dawn Farm Support Specialists offer our clients information about addiction, connect them to the 12-step community, and help them navigate the recovery services available in Washtenaw County.

Since 1973 Dawn Farm has offered comprehensive help for drug and alcohol addiction in a unique long-term treatment setting. To learn more visit http://dawnfarm.org/programs/residential-treatment

Enjoy your holiday & thank you.

Sincerely,
