Sleeping in the Forest
by Mary Oliver

I thought the earth remembered me,
she took me back so tenderly,
arranging her dark skirts, her pockets
full of lichens and seeds.
I slept as never before, a stone on the river bed,
nothing between me and the white fire of the stars
but my thoughts, and they floated light as moths
among the branches of the perfect trees.
All night I heard the small kingdoms
breathing around me, the insects,
and the birds who do their work in the darkness.
All night I rose and fell, as if in water,
grappling with a luminous doom. By morning
I had vanished at least a dozen times
into something better.

Hello Everybody,

Last month I started working with a business coach.  She was pretty impressed with the size of our email list but was pretty unimpressed with what we'd been doing with it (not much!).

Apparently people sign-up for an email list because they want information... which I've got, in spades.

To make up for my slovenly email habits, I am committing to send you all a tip, every week.

Our lives are inundated with environmental factors that cause both emotional and physical distress and make us feel disconnected from the Earth.

When this email pops into your box on Sunday mornings, use it as a reminder to relax and have a cup of tea.

Relief is as close as your garden (or your laptop or smart phone -- Herbiary takes online orders, too).

Enjoy!

Layce grabbed the soup pot of spaghetti off the stove and carried it to the colander in the sink.  Her back was to me, so I didn't see what happened but I heard...

Yup, that's a pretty exhausting list!  Luckily Maia gets energized coaching people like you on how to live wholly while navigating challenging illnesses and life transitions.

Maia was trained as an herbalist in Ireland, where her clientele included both folks from the neighboring town and cows from the neighboring organic farms.  She loves the magical moment when science catches up to traditional wisdom, "proving" what we have known all along.
