As we approach the New Year, many of us begin to reflect on the last 12 months and our hopes, dreams and plans for the next year. There is often discussion about 'New Year Resolutions.' You may be considering changing a bad habit, or aiming for a new personal goal. Perhaps you wish to make some simple lifestyle changes to improve your health and well-being. Whatever your resolutions for this year, I wish you all the success you deserve in achieving them.
But, if you don’t already have a regular spiritual practice, how about setting some spiritual intentions at the same time?
Perhaps consider establishing a regular spiritual practice of meditation or affirmations each week, strive to learn more about aspects of your faith and beliefs, or join a local group.
For me, 2018 will be a year of
Following the successes of the ‘
trips to the Holy Land (Israel & Jordan in 2016 and Galilee in 2017) I am now venturing further afield - travelling to places of breath-taking natural beauty and significant spiritual energy.
Sri Lanka is one such place and a has been calling me for some time.
Fusing ancient spirituality with modern culture, Sri Lanka is a country of mountain vistas, sacred temples, elephant-filled national parks, as well as some of the best beaches in South Asia! From tea plantations to temples, waterfalls to white-washed beaches, safaris to sacred temples, you can’t help but fall in love with Sri Lanka and its history dating back over 2,500 years. Sites include the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the Historic Galle Fort and the Sacred City of Kandy.
I'll be taking a small group to this amazing country next May. Together we'll explore its secrets, meditate, reflect and soak up the phenomenal energies of its sacred places whilst sharing and experiencing the journey with like-minded souls. Wonderful!
Retreats are often life-changing experiences - allowing individuals to explore their spiritual impulses more deeply and discover the nature of their purpose here in this lifetime.
Ask yourself: is this coming year a time for me to fully embrace my spiritual path? Perhaps taking time out for yourself to travel and explore is an opportunity for you to connect with the Divine in new ways, find answers, healing, love and peace.
There are only a limited number of places on the retreat so if you feel called, as I do, then send an email to register your interest, or visit the website for more details and begin your own spiritual adventure in 2018!
