Today I want to declare a blessing. A double portion blessing. Over each one of us.
And I want to encourage us to receive it.
The other day, the Lord reminded me of a story. Part of my story.
A story of when the Lord provided. Not just enough. But double.
I hadn't asked for double. In fact, I hadn't even asked for the one.
But I needed it. And He knew I needed it.
And He provided. Not just one. But two.
Two of the thing I needed. Two of the thing I hadn't yet asked for.
But I had to receive them!
Because they were actually wrapped in a gift of a different sort.
A box. Full of other stuff. Stuff I didn't need in the moment, but knew I could use later. From a lady I barely knew.
And in that box, full of stuff for later, from a lady I barely knew, was what I need right now!
And so I encourage us today, receive the things you need. The things you need that you haven't even asked for yet.
They may not come exactly as you image or expect. But God has a beautiful way of providing for us in ways we could never imagine!
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 NLT
She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen the One who sees me." Genesis 16:13 NIV
And you will be called priests of the Lord, you will be named ministers of our God. You will feed on the wealth of nations, and in their riches you will boast.
Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. Isaiah 61:7 NIV
