"Everything starts from Prayer."
Mother Teresa
- As I get to know the Fatima community, I have had a great start this summer with productive and informative parent meetings. I have had grade level parent meetings and at each meeting, I have found passionate, committed parents who love Our Lady of Fatima School. The parents I have met give unselfishly of their time, and I feel our school is well supported by our parents who are important stakeholders. I would love to continue to meet with parents throughout the summer.
-        I have also met with Wilton Chief of Police, Robert Crosby, with the Wilton Fire Department Chief, Ron Kanterman, and with Elaine Tai-Lauria, Executive Director of the Wilton Library.   I look forward to a long relationship with all these professionals that will benefit the students of Our Lady of Fatima School.
-        At the end of June, I met with the faculty. In addition, many teachers are in the school during the summer. I am impressed by their professionalism and commitment to our school. I look forward to working closely with this wonderful staff.
-        I have made a commitment to publishing a Principal Community Newsletter every other week during the school year, and once a month during the summer to facilitate clear communication. (This is the first Newsletter!) I will need the help of everyone: school, HSA, Athletics, Something Special store, the parish, and school community to make sure my coming events are up-to-date and accurate. Just email me at or call me at the school at 762-8100 with your event information.
-        As I mentioned, I visited Elaine Tai-Lauria at the Wilton Library this past week. It is an amazing library and will be a wonderful resource for our school! I hope you and your family have had the opportunity to visit the library, take advantage of their different programs, check out some books and do some reading for pleasure with your family. Parents are wonderful role-models for this all important skill.
-        One of my goals is to build up enrollment in our school. Everyone can help as "Parent Ambassadors" and taking any opportunity to tell your neighbors your positive Our Lady of Fatima story.
-        I am planning to offer, with the parish, a "Mom and Tots" program this fall one morning a week in the school. Stay tuned for more information.
-        A lot of class and "organizational knowledge" walked out of the building this past June when Linda Makowski retired. I know you join me in wishing Linda a well-deserved retirement. We have been extremely fortunate to have hired Diane Favier as our new Office Assistant. Diane brings wonderful experience with her after serving for 26 years as the Administrative Assistant and Office Manager at St. Gabriel's School.  Diane's previous Principal, Dr. Gail Kingston, described Diane as "a creative and caring person who maintains excellent communication with teachers, parents, and the community." I am very excited to work with Diane and I know you will enjoy getting to know her.
-        I am in school every day during the summer from 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Please stop in and say, "Hi."
-        This summer, I am gaining a new appreciation for the term, "learning curve." I thank everyone, parents, and teachers, for their patience with me!

July 29th - Parish/School Cookout from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It will be a wonderful way to celebrate the summer as a parish and school community. Hope to see you here!
September 6th - First Day of School! Pre-K 3 through 8th.
We are in great need for a volunteer from our parent community to coach the Field Hockey team this year.  It's a short season, September-through the first week of November, with about 6-8 games, some home, some away and about 10 practices. Please contact me if you might be interested.

I want to express a sincere and heartfelt thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome. It is an honor to be the Principal at your school.
