Reminder: NPDES/SDS changes enacted in August 2013

The construction season is underway, and it is important to note that the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency updated permit regulations for storm water affected by construction activity to waters of the State of Minnesota.
In August 2013, the MPCA re-issued the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) State Disposal System (SDS) General Permit (R1000001) for discharges of storm water associated with construction.
Though the primary changes concern federal rules, the MPCA also revised the permit to clarify existing language, better align with the municipal storm water program, address defects and incorporate changes needed to enhance compliance with the permit.
New requirements that range from natural buffers to the design of storm water controls are now in place.
Landform can assist clients with design & permitting to ensure these new requirements are met!
