Dear Orlando,
Typically the week prior to classes starting, we send out a big reminder with tons of fanfare so everyone remembers, and hopefully signs up to join us. Last Sunday, we were all stunned and heartbroken, so we refrained from sending our typical "one week to go" email. Then Monday went by... and so did Tuesday. It still just didn't feel right. Today, however, we wanted to share some thoughts.

Kindermusik is a place to be together in community, sharing love, laughter and connections. Music heals and uplifts. Even in times of grief, children need normalcy, routine and love. These beautiful moments shared with children are so important, especially now. Many of us may be feeling vulnerable and sad, but children still need to sing... to giggle.... to dance. Life goes on and through them, through their joy, through Kindermusik, we will spread more love around this incredible community of ours. So to do our due diligence, we would like to remind you that our Summer classes begin next week. Our hearts are with the families and friends of the victims of the horrible tragedy at Pulse, and our hearts are with all in our community. We hope to see you soon.
With love,
Holly and Will Lesnick

After the shooting this weekend, we as a studio quietly wondered how we could help. Our answer came quickly. We are leading drop off camp this week, and one of our Kindermusik camper moms asked if there was any chance we could sneak in a little boy who's dad was shot and killed at Pulse. This family was willing to pay for him and our camp is completely full, but there was no way we would say no, and there was NO WAY we would accept any money. We told them we would scholarship him, and to just bring him. As of today, sweet Kelvyn doesn't yet know what has happened to his Dad. While mom is going to grief counseling, he's been smiling, dancing, singing and frolicking with happiness at Kindermusik camp (see the video we just shared below this post on our page). He is the sweetest little soul, a complete joy to have at our camp. While tons of fun is happening at camp, we lead it with heavy hearts. Please know we are posting this with his mother's full permission. We wanted to let you know that there is now a GoFund Me page https://www.gofundme.com/29ew68k for his dad Xavier''s funeral and remaining funds will go towards Kelvyn's college fund. If you can, please consider donating to our sweet Grow and Sing Studios Kindermusik kid. This picture was taken yesterday at Kindermusik camp. Kelvyn drew a beautiful rainbow picture on his art apron.
