Shimon Peres faithfully served the State of Israel in many different roles from 1952 until 2014. Since being elected to the Knesset in 1959, Peres served twice as the Prime Minister of Israel, twice as the Interim Prime Minister and in 12 different cabinets as a member of Knesset. In 2007, Peres became the ninth President of Israel and served in that role until his retirement in 2014. He was the world's oldest head of state and he is considered the last link to Israel's founding generation. Peres lived an incredible life and served as a symbol of inspiration and peace to the people of the State of Israel and around the world. He dedicated his life to public service and aimed to create a peaceful future for the State of Israel. His legacy will live on as we continue to build a better and brighter future. He leaves behind three children, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
