Steubenville's own holiday musical, Wooden Heart Follies , begins its second season the Sunday after Thanksgiving, November 26, at 2 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, which is located at 127 North 4th Street in Steubenville. The show will be repeated there December 3, 10, and 17 at the same time. Nine life-sized Nutcrackers from the Steubenville Nutcracker Village come to life in this hour-long production pairing Tchaikovsky's familiar holiday music from The Nutcracker Suite with modern comic lyrics. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and children under 6 are free. Tickets are available at the door or in advance at the Visitor's Center at Fort Steuben or online at Brown Paper Tickets .
The Canticle Singers Catholic Youth Choir will hold its "Concert of Advent & Christmas Music" on Sunday, December 10th beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Wintersville. Works by Bach, Mozart, Franck & Reger and more will be featured. Admission is free and this holiday event is open to the public. There will be a free will offering at intermission. The A.A.S.R. Valley of Steubenville/Masonic Temple will host a pancake breakfast on Saturday, December 9th from 8 to 11 a.m. prior to the Steubenville Christmas Parade. Pancakes, sausage, coffee, juice and hot chocolate will be served. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Come out and warm your belly prior to the parade. The 227 North 4th Street in downtown Steubenville.

Franciscan University of Steubenville will present two musical events this Advent season for your enjoyment.
     
Franciscan University’s  Schola Cantorum Franciscana  and Franciscan University Chorale will perform their annual Advent Services of Lessons and Carols on Tuesday, December 5, at 7:00 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel. The service will consist of hymns, followed by readings from Bible passages.  
     
On Friday, December 8, the Franciscan University Chorale will perform their annual Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Gentile Gallery, J.C. William’s Center. Under the direction of Franciscan University Music Professor George Melhorn, the concert will feature arrangements of familiar Christmas carols in a variety of styles, along with original compositions by John Rutter, Randall Thompson, and Gustav Holst.

Both events are free and open to the public.

The Steubenville Nutcracker Village is looking for volunteers for tasks that include: Trolley Assistant; Hayride Assistant; Land Office Guard; Facilities Patrol; and Greeter.
