SPECIAL THANKS ...

We want to say a very special THANK YOU to our AACDC Sponsors;

Country SpiritCountry Spirit Dance Society
was incorporated as a Non-Profit Society in the Province of Alberta in March of 1989, shortly after its conception as a western performance group for the opening ceremonies at the '88 Winter Olympics. This club has been built on a solid foundation of clearly defined goals and a high level of professionalism which has proven successful as we are Alberta's surviving traditional western dancers.

Country Pride

Country Pride Dance Club

2011 marked a special milestone for the club as we celebrated our 20 year anniversary. We were established in Red Deer, Alberta in 1991 for all of the Central Alberta community, and in that time period the club have done some amazing things, and taken it's members on a wonderful journey. From teaching students how to do a two-step, to taking our dance team to compete at a World Championship.

ELIGIBILITY and RULES ...

Cash and Prizes totaling over $5,000 will be up for grabs this year !!

Two Divisions of Two Step, West Coast Swing and Line Dance will be offered for 2012. A Starter Division and a Beginner Division.

AACDC RulesDuring the contest, between three (3) and five (5) judges will rank the dance couples based on their skills, presentation, and showmanship. Scores from all the judges are combined to obtain the final standings. Adjudication is a subjective process (to say the least) and that is why several judges are used to ensure fairness.

Depending on the number of entries, competitors will be required to compete in a Preliminary Round until a maximum of fifteen couples are recalled for the final round by the judges. During the final round, the top three (3) placements are determined and those three (3) finalists are then invited to compete at the 2012 Calgary Dance Stampede against the top three (3) finalists from other cities for the 2012 Alberta Amateur Title.
